Registrations are building strongly for The Yacht Sales Co.'s inaugural New Zealand Open Day, set for Saturday 27 September in Auckland. The free event runs from 10am to 4pm, held alongside the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's (RNZYS) 154th Opening Day celebrations, giving attendees the chance to step aboard a handpicked selection of premium pre-owned yachts and hear from a line-up of industry specialists.
Among the vessels on show will be a Fountaine Pajot Elba 45, a Dufour 470, and a Moody DS 45, all available for sale. The Yacht Sales Co. team will be present throughout the day to field questions on buying or selling a yacht.
The programme extends well beyond simply browsing the boats on offer. A series of free presentations will be delivered by leading figures from across the marine industry. North Sails will cover sail care, maintenance, and cruising sail options. Island Cruising will bring firsthand accounts and practical tips from South Pacific voyaging. The Yacht Sales Co. team will walk through what is involved in preparing a yacht for sale, and Maritime NZ will outline the process for obtaining an International Voyage Certificate for New Zealand pleasure craft.
The day also coincides with some of the RNZYS's most cherished Opening Day traditions. At midday, a cannon will fire to formally declare the sailing season open, after which a boat parade along the waterfront will get under way.
