Seven AC75s will come together on the Bay of Naples to kick off the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Selection Series for the 38th America's Cup.
Group Stage 1 opens on Saturday 22 May 2027 with three fleet races, and three more conclude the stage on Sunday 23 May. The 175-year history of the America's Cup has never seen a weekend quite like it.
Match racing begins on Wednesday 26 May 2027, with the first Round Robin consisting of 21 one-on-one races across three days through to Friday 28 May. The second Round Robin follows immediately over the weekend of 29-30 May, concluding on Monday 31 May 2027, with another 21 races scheduled.
Emirates Team New Zealand will join the racing from the Fleet Races through to the end of the third Round Robin, though the Defender's results will not count toward the final Challenger standings.
Teams get a week off from 1-8 June 2027 before the third and final Round Robin runs from 9-11 June, again with 21 races. At the conclusion of that stage, the top three Challengers progress automatically to the Semi-Finals.
The remaining three Challengers contest the Repêchage over the weekend of 12-13 June 2027, racing for the last Semi-Final place. Once the semi-finalists are confirmed, racing runs from 16-20 June 2027, with a reserve day on 21 June, to determine who contests the Louis Vuitton Cup Final.
The Final is first to seven wins from 13 scheduled races, beginning over the weekend of 26-27 June and potentially concluding over the weekend of 3-4 July 2027.
The Louis Vuitton Cup winner then faces Emirates Team New Zealand in the Match, beginning over the weekend of 10-11 July 2027. First to seven wins takes the Cup. With a battle-hardened Challenger emerging from the series, Naples could produce the closest Match since San Francisco in 2013.
Should the Match go the distance, the final day is scheduled for Monday 19 July, though the Race Director reserves the right to extend should weather cause any cancellations.
