Maelenn Lemaitre has officially joined the La Roche-Posay Racing Team, completing a nine-person crew for the America's Cup campaign.
The five-time women's match racing world champion was recruited at the start of the season through the K-Challenge Akademy and has already been working with the team for several weeks on the AC75 simulator.
She joins pilots Quentin Delapierre and Diego Botín, flight controller and trimmers Jason Saunders, Florian Trittel, and Leigh McMillan, systems management and strategy expert Amélie Grassi, and backup helmsman and trimmer Enzo Balanger and Timothé Lapauw.
"The weeks spent on the simulator have allowed me to get my bearings with the group and to better understand the specific demands of the AC75. I am very proud and happy to officially join the La Roche-Posay Racing Team and to be able to put my match racing experience at the service of the collective."
Sporting Director Philippe Presti said her signing was a natural fit. "Maelenn is already integrated into the team's work. Her match racing experience, her clarity, and her ability to read situations complement the skills within the team in a very coherent way. Her background also perfectly illustrates the purpose of the work carried out by the K-Challenge Akademy: identifying talent and giving them access to the highest-level programs."
