Strataglass launches Latitude marine fabric

1 min read

Kiwi boat owners eyeing a bimini or enclosure re-trim this season have a new fabric option. Strataglass, best known locally for its clear vinyl enclosure panels, has partnered with fellow manufacturer Herculite Products to co-develop a soft-feel cover and enclosure fabric called Latitude.

Strataglass says Latitude feels more like a supple, European-style textile than the stiff vinyl that's traditionally covered cockpits and bimini frames. The company claims the fabric resists cold cracking, tearing, weathering, mildew and rot, along with everyday grime and salt exposure, and stands up to the UV levels that New Zealand's summer sun is known for. A protective topcoat is said to make the fabric easier to clean and slower to discolour over time.

It's designed for bimini tops, enclosure curtains, cockpit covers and full boat covers. Colour choices are limited for now, just Ivory, Snow White and White.
