Smuggler Marine has launched the Stealth 800 Amphibious, a significant new model that expands the company's already broad range of amphibious boats.
The hull was shaped in close collaboration with internationally renowned marine designer Brett Bakewell-White, bringing together advanced hydrodynamics, a refined ride, and contemporary styling in a package conceived specifically for New Zealand waters.

Every quality that has earned Smuggler's amphibious RIB range such a loyal following in this country is present in the new model. A soft, dry ride, solid offshore capability, and dependable construction have made these boats a firm favourite with recreational boaters, fishers, and coastal adventurers across New Zealand, and the Stealth 800 Amphibious builds squarely on those foundations.
Central to the design is a fully integrated amphibious wheel system supplied by Anura. The system frees the operator from reliance on a trailer or a conventional boat ramp, allowing the boat to be launched, retrieved, and manoeuvred independently. Isolated beaches, shallow stretches of coastline, and locations that would otherwise be difficult to reach all become viable destinations, and for families heading out for a day on the water, the reduction in logistical complexity is a genuine bonus. None of that practicality comes at the expense of offshore performance.
Engine options span a range of high-performance outboards from 300hp through to 350hp. Paired with Brett Bakewell-White's hull engineering, that power range is designed to deliver strong acceleration, efficient cruising, and assured handling when sea conditions become more demanding.

David Pringle, Managing Director of Smuggler Marine, sees the Stealth 800 Amphibious as a natural expression of values the company has held from the beginning. "Smuggler has always been focused on innovation, performance, and building boats that suit the unique demands of New Zealand conditions," he says. "The Stealth 800 Amphibious is the next evolution of that philosophy, combining Brett Bakewell-White's exceptional hull design expertise with the practicality and freedom of amphibious technology."
