Six teen rowers named for 2026 World Beach Sprint Finals in China

Six young New Zealanders will contest the 2026 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Qingdao, China, from 18 to 21 October, after Rowing New Zealand named its U19 Beach Sprint Development Team for the event.

Arthur Crimmins of Tauranga Rowing Club will compete in the Men's U19 Solo, with Emily Pengelly from Bay of Plenty Coast Rowing Club in the Women's U19 Solo.

Henry Johnston of Sacred Heart Rowing Club and Sophie Harrison of Bay of Plenty Coast Rowing Club form the Mixed U19 Double. Leonardo Bacchus (Takapuna Grammar Rowing Club) and Guy Smith (Auckland Grammar Rowing Club) pair up in the Men's U19 Double.

Elizabeth Keddell of Petone Rowing Club and Tallulah Kubaisi-Gallagher, also of Bay of Plenty Coast Rowing Club, round out the squad in the Women's U19 Double.

Joseph Sullivan will coach the team, with Rebecca Beattie as Tour Manager.
