The Route du Rhum Village in Saint-Malo will stay closed today after severe weather battered the Breton port.
Organisers made the call purely on safety grounds, describing conditions as particularly violent. Access remains strictly off-limits until the weather eases and the situation can be properly assessed.
Staff are understood to be working flat out to reopen the Village as soon as conditions allow, though no firm timeline has been given.

The closure follows the same pattern seen when Storm Austen tore through the port overnight with gusts topping 75 knots, forcing organisers, race teams and technical crews into an all-night scramble to protect the boats and secure the village infrastructure.
Organisers say further updates will follow as the situation develops.
