Walking into the NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4X4 Expo on Saturday morning, it was clear early on that the event had delivered on its promises. We previewed it back in July when it was still on the horizon, and having spent a few hours on the floor, the verdict is straightforward: it is well worth making the trip.
The atmosphere carries the same spirit as the classic Kiwi AMP show, that particular energy you get when provincial New Zealand gathers to celebrate the things it does best. Fishing, hunting, boating, and the wider outdoor life are all represented here in genuine depth, not as an afterthought.
For anyone who has not yet made it along, tomorrow is the final day of this year's event. If the outdoors is your natural habitat, whether you spend your weekends on the water, in the hills, or on a back-country track, this is your last opportunity to get there.
