Raymarine and Suzuki Marine have teamed up to deliver something outboard boaties have long wanted: full engine integration built directly into Raymarine's Axiom chartplotter range. The partnership brings a dedicated Suzuki app to the Axiom screen via the LightHouse 4.10 software update, putting engine data, alerts, and trip planning right alongside charts, sonar, and radar on a single display.
The practical result is a cleaner helm and fewer reasons to glance away from where you're going. Engine parameters including RPMs, speed over ground, trim and tilt, oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel levels, alternator voltage, and rudder position are all presented on screen the moment you start the Axiom. Turn angle indicators are included as well, a welcome addition when threading through a busy marina or picking your way into a shallow anchorage.
For anyone who spends time dragging lures at low speed, Suzuki's Troll Mode is fully integrated, holding a steady low-RPM pace without constant throttle adjustments. The app also handles engine warnings. Should oil pressure drop, coolant temperatures climb, or water find its way into the fuel, a clear alert appears on screen rather than a small indicator light that's easy to miss.
Beyond live engine monitoring, the Suzuki app opens a dedicated trip data page covering engine hours, trip distance, fuel burn, fuel flow, economy, and distance to go. Whether you're plotting a run out to the Alderman Islands or heading north towards the Mokes, that range information removes the guesswork from passage planning and gives you a firm answer on whether you can make it there and back on what's in the tank.
The integration scales across vessel sizes. A single-engine runabout benefits from a noticeably tidier dash, while the system can simultaneously display data for up to four engines, making it equally at home on serious offshore rigs running triple or quad Suzukis. It's the kind of glass-cockpit functionality that was once the exclusive territory of large inboard-powered vessels, now available for outboard setups of any size.
Getting the system running requires an Axiom display, either the Axiom, Axiom+, Pro, XL, or the newer Axiom 2, updated to LightHouse 4.10 or the latest 4.x release. Connection to the outboard runs through Suzuki's NMEA 2000 gateway, part number 34923-96L13. Owners of older motors can check with Raymarine or a Suzuki dealer about compatible adapters.
