When Rayglass unveiled its centrepiece at the 2026 Auckland boat show, the Legend 2400 marked a third consecutive year of range modernisation. The programme began with the 3000 in 2024, carried on with the 2700 in 2025, and the 2400 now completes what is becoming a coherent next-generation Legend lineup.
The foundation for this model is one of the company's most enduring platforms. The Legend 2350 has sold consistently for 13 years, and rather than abandon what works, Rayglass carried its proven unsinkable deep-V hull forward while stretching overall length by half a metre. The brief grew from something specific: owner feedback gathered across those 13 years of fishing trips, rough weather runs, family outings, and everyday use. That accumulated experience, according to Rayglass president Dean Harris, drove both the specification revision and a thorough design refresh throughout the boat.
Harris was explicit that the 2400 is not intended to replace the 2350. It occupies the gap between the 2350 and the 2500, offering buyers an additional option within the updated lineup.
Changes begin at the helm. The dash and helm layout have been reworked to deliver improved windscreen sightlines and greater standing headroom. Forward, the foredeck has been both raised and lengthened, making bow space more usable. A slightly extended waterline contributes to better ride quality and stability, cabin and deck storage has been expanded throughout, and the hardtop cabin now offers enough headroom to make overnighting a practical option.
On deck, four anglers can work comfortably, and the duckboard has been enlarged to open up cockpit space at the transom. The sterndrive variant features removable D-rails that match those fitted to the 2700 and 3000, maintaining a consistent look across the refreshed range. Buyers choosing the outboard version instead receive a dedicated offshore transom fitted with a plumbed live bait tank, a bait prep station, and a chilly bin.
Three propulsion configurations are available. The sterndrive takes a 270hp inboard diesel, while outboard buyers can specify either a single engine of up to 425hp or twin outboards of up to 450hp. Fuel capacity is 320 litres for the sterndrive and 300 litres for the outboard models. Customisation extends across nearly every component of the boat.
The Legend 2400 is handcrafted in Auckland, with tours and sea trials available at Rayglass's Mt Wellington headquarters.
