Four Categories, Six Nominees Each
The competition features four main categories, with six shortlisted boats in each:
CATEGORY: Sail Cruising
This category focuses on cruising comfort and bluewater capability. The nominees are:
- C-CAT 38 (Comar Yachts) – a nimble yet capable cruising cat.
- Lagoon 43 – a fresh design from one of the industry leaders. Check out our review of the Lagoon 42. NZ Lagoon Catamaran dealers are 36 Degrees Brokers. Check them out, they'd love to help.
- Leopard 46 – blending performance with charter appeal.
- Bali 5.8 – renowned for its open-space concept.
- Sixty Solar Sail – showcasing solar-powered sustainability. This is one to watch.
- MAX 44SC – a sleek cruiser with surprising volume.
CATEGORY: Sail Performance
These boats offer speed and agility without sacrificing seaworthiness:
- Dragonfly 36 – a trimaran built for performance cruising. Check out our review of the Dragonfly 25 Sport. HH52 – carbon-built, fast and luxurious. Check out our review of the HH50. CATEGORY: Multipower
Power catamarans are a growing segment, and this year’s nominees span innovative electric options to luxurious cruising machines:
- Millikan M9 – all-electric and environmentally focused.
- Aventura 38 – compact yet spacious power cat.
- YOT 41 – blending yacht luxury with modern styling.
- Dracan 42 – a new contender with sleek European design.
- Aquila 50 Yacht – strong presence in the luxury charter scene.
- 60 Sunreef Power Eco – solar-powered and customisable.

CATEGORY: Multiyacht
This is where things get large and luxurious. These multihulls are superyachts by any measure:
- MODX 70 – an electric cat built with sustainable materials.
- BGM75 – a luxury hybrid offering from Bluegame.
- MC75 – the McConaghy luxury cat pushing the envelope.
- Two Oceans 870 – South African-built, long-range and custom.
- Wider Cat 92 – high-end design meets massive onboard space.
How voting works
Voting is open to all readers and boating enthusiasts. To be counted, voters must choose one boat in
each
of the four main categories. The voting period closes soon on April 20, 2025, and the winners will be revealed on April 23 during the
International Multihull Show
. Votes aren’t just about bragging rights—prizes are up for grabs too. All valid voters will be entered into a draw to win a WRX Electric "Pirates Shadow" watch by Ralf Tech worth €2,600, along with a range of other exclusive prizes.
Two new jury categories
This year introduces two additional award categories, though they are not open to public voting:
- “IMS Premiere”, selected by the Multihulls World and Multicoques Mag jury.
- “Capt’n Boat”, determined by professional skippers through the Capt’n Boat platform.
