In a market that prizes novelty above all else, Numarine has taken a longer view. The yard's new Classic Line rests on the conviction that great yacht design should outlast the season in which it was born.
CEO Patrik von Sydow describes the line as both a natural and strategic evolution for the brand. "It allows us to broaden our design language and reach a wider audience while staying true to the core principles that define the brand: efficiency, capability, and usability."
Two models introduce the range: the 38XPC and the 39MXPC. Both are drawn from Numarine's proven long-range platforms, the same hulls that have built the builder's reputation as one of the leading names in efficient explorer yachts.
For exterior designer Can Yalman, the word "Classic" carries a specific meaning. It has nothing to do with nostalgia or recreating the past. The focus is on proportion, clarity, and an elegance expressed through a contemporary lens, a framing that Numarine shares entirely. "The Classic Line emerged quite naturally from a period of reflection," Yalman explains. "After years of working on highly optimised, contemporary explorer yachts, there was a desire to reconnect with more timeless principles of naval design."
The two models pursue that shared philosophy along distinct paths. The 39MXPC reworks the aft section, introducing a Jacuzzi and a generous open terrace set close to the water, lending a social, Mediterranean-style character to a genuine explorer platform. The 38XPC takes a quieter direction, its layout shaped by the tradition of the gentleman's yacht, with an emphasis on elegance, considered balance, and a tangible connection to traditional yachting heritage.
The impetus for the line came largely from clients. A growing number were seeking something more restrained and enduring in its design language, and Yalman says the studio felt that shift clearly. "We sensed a growing desire for a more reflective, balanced approach to yachting, one that moves away from excess and emphasises harmony, connection with nature, and a more timeless, almost romantic idea of life at sea."
Naval architect Umberto Tagliavini has ensured the aesthetic shift does not come at the expense of substance. The efficiency, seaworthiness, stability, and autonomy that define Numarine's explorer yachts are fully retained across both Classic models, reinterpreted through a more timeless and architectural design language. Interior concepts for both yachts have been developed by Milan-based studio Hot Lab, part of the Viken Group.
