A new 55-foot model is joining Riviera's Belize collection, with the builder revealing the Belize 55 Sedan and Daybridge ahead of their world premiere at the Newport International Boat Show in Newport, Rhode Island, opening 17 September 2026.

The reveal responds to what Riviera describes as growing global demand for the Belize range. Riviera Australia owner Rodney Longhurst describes Belize as "a superb balance between the understated elegance of Maine's classic Downeaster style boats and Australian practicality; a blend of tradition and modern bespoke luxury using masterful design, premium fabrics and finishes, exotic timbers and handcrafted cabinetry."

The intended owner is experienced. "Belize owners often have years of cruising experience, some aboard traditional motor yachts whilst others started out under sail. Now they have reached a stage where decisions are made without compromise," Longhurst said. With only a limited number of Belize yachts built each year, exclusivity is part of the proposition.

The 55 is built around a hull engineered specifically for Volvo Penta IPS propulsion. A fine entry, keel-assisted tracking and a pronounced bow chine are designed to deliver confident handling, good stability and a dry ride offshore. Twin Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s power both variants, with up to three joystick control stations available for docking and close-quarters work.

Entertaining space is a clear focus. A full-beam hydraulic swim platform converts to a beach platform at anchor, a dedicated watersports garage handles equipment stowage, and an integrated transom barbecue is built in. The aft deck flows into the saloon to effectively double the main-deck social area, while the Daybridge variant adds a large lounge, wet bar and elevated helm with panoramic views.

Below, three staterooms and two bathrooms are spread across the accommodation deck, including a full-beam master suite with ensuite. The layout suits both extended cruising and relaxed weekends aboard.

Technology options include Sentinel remote monitoring, comprehensive camera systems, Starlink connectivity and optional stabilisation solutions. Every Belize is backed by Riviera's warranty programme.

Longhurst frames the appeal directly: "With the Belize 55 Sedan and Daybridge, owners can create their ultimate classic motor yacht, with a level of customisation and bespoke detail."
