Maritimo's 2025 Muster series trades long passages for local weekends with big social payoff

Maritimo's decision to rethink its owner event calendar has made 2025 one of the most talked-about seasons in the brand's history, trading long-distance migrations for relaxed, local weekends that suit the way people actually use their boats.

Australasian Sales Manager Danny Jordin, who drives Maritimo's owner-engagement programme, shaped the new format around a simple idea: events that work for everyone, regardless of how much time they have available. "Whether you're retired or time-poor with a packed schedule, this format really works," he said. The result has been a series of Musters that feel genuinely social rather than logistically demanding.

The season opened in late August with the Moreton Bay Muster, and the tone was set from the first morning. Seventeen vessels came together at Sanctuary Cove for a casual breakfast before the fleet, with Maritimo's new M50 Flybridge leading the way, made the short crossing to Peel Island. Horseshoe Bay provided warm water, a beach setup, and an unhurried atmosphere that carried through the entire weekend. The programme had shape without ever feeling overplanned.

When a wind shift made moving the whole fleet to Straddie Brewing Co look less attractive, the team responded without fuss. Tenders were used to ferry guests across instead, keeping the afternoon comfortable for everyone aboard. It was a neat illustration of Jordin's guiding principle for the series. "It's all about flexibility," he said.

Saturday brought a gentle cruise to RQYS Canaipa, where boats settled into the anchorage and owners gathered ashore for prawns, a fire, and a long, easy afternoon under the trees. Children toasted marshmallows while adults shared stories and got to know each other properly. Perhaps the clearest measure of how well the format had landed was what happened after the official programme wrapped on Sunday. Many boats simply kept cruising together, the community having taken root faster than anyone had anticipated.

That momentum carried directly into the next event. The Hamilton Island Muster in late September drew much of its fleet from owners who had already spent the winter cruising the Whitsundays, but the Moreton Bay gathering had produced something extra: a small flotilla of owners who had enjoyed themselves so much they decided to travel north together. For Jordin, it was precisely the outcome the redesigned calendar was meant to produce. "These owners had so much fun in Moreton Bay they got together and formed a flotilla to head north," he said.

The Hamilton Island weekend opened with drinks near the marina before the fleet cruised out to Cape Gloucester for swimming, stern-deck lounging, and a warm tropical afternoon. As the light faded, a sunset session on the lawn became one of the weekend's most memorable stretches. When owners collectively decided to return to Hamilton Island to watch the AFL grand final together, what might have been a logistical shift turned into one of the social highlights of the year, finishing with a three-course dinner at the Yacht Club. "I've never had so many hugs before," Jordin said of the evening. Sunday carried that warmth forward, with the NRL preliminary final watched as a group over plenty of grazing plates and easy conversation.

The 2025 Muster series closed a week ago, between 21 and 23 November, in Pittwater. More than twenty-five boats registered for a weekend that took the fleet from Barrenjoey through to Dangar Island, Mooney Mooney, and Cottage Point. The M50 Flybridge again served as both host vessel and a working demonstration of Maritimo's long-range cruising philosophy.

The three events, across Moreton Bay, the Whitsundays, and Pittwater, showed what becomes possible when a brand pays close attention to what its owners actually want. Shorter trips, less pressure, and more time spent on the water. For most boaters, that is the whole point.
