Maritimo appoints Primus Marine to cover Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia

2 min read

Maritimo has taken another step in its Asian expansion, appointing Primus Marine as its authorised dealer across Southeast Asia, with the arrangement spanning Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. The move lifts the brand's total dealership locations in Asia to four, complementing its established presence in Japan.

Primus Marine is a logical fit for the role. The Thailand-based company runs operations from Phuket and Pattaya and has been steadily extending its regional reach into Singapore and Malaysia. It also holds the distinction of being named Robb Report Thailand's Best Yacht Dealer in 2025. For Maritimo, the partnership opens a market where experienced owners are increasingly looking beyond sheltered coastal runs, drawn instead to vessels capable of genuine offshore passages across a wide and varied region.

Maritimo's Global Business Development Manager, Derrick Nowak, said demand from the region had been building for some time. "We've seen consistent enquiry from across the region in recent years, particularly from Thailand, and it was important for us to align with a partner who understands this," he said. "Southeast Asia is an important growth market, and what we're seeing is owners wanting to travel further, stay longer and reach parts of the region that many boats simply aren't designed for."

That ambition sits at the core of what Maritimo was built to do. Founded in 2003 by Australian boatbuilder Bill Barry-Cotter, the company has spent more than two decades establishing a reputation through engineering-driven, shaft-drive motor yachts conceived for serious extended cruising. Range, reliability and practical on-board liveability define the brand, rather than spectacle or short-hop appeal. Southeast Asia's demanding waters and sweeping cruising grounds make it a compelling fit for a builder with that philosophy.

Primus Marine will carry Maritimo's full model lineup across the region, covering the M-Series Flybridge, the S-Series Sedan and the Offshore Series. The two companies will also collaborate on Maritimo's participation in the Singapore Yacht Festival 2026.

Howard Prime, CEO and Founder of Primus Marine, said the region's cruising conditions made the partnership a natural one. "We see strong potential in Southeast Asia, where cruising conditions align closely with what Maritimo delivers," he said. "We are proud to represent the brand and look forward to building the market across the region."
