Mermaid Gin has been named the official gin partner for the North Sails Cowes Week Bicentenary regatta, bringing the Isle of Wight distillery's award-winning spirits into an event it has long been associated with.
The brand has enjoyed a familiar presence in and around Cowes for years, and chairman Bob Trimble says the partnership felt like a natural fit. "As we celebrate 200 years, it feels particularly fitting to partner with a brand that is so proudly rooted in the Isle of Wight. We are proud of the artisans and businesses that call The Island home, and it therefore seemed natural to welcome Mermaid as our Official Gin Partner. Their commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability and community perfectly reflects the values and spirit of this historic regatta."
Mermaid's spirits will feature across a number of official event occasions throughout the week, with the Mermaid Party at Shepards Marina on Monday evening as the centrepiece. The first 200 Mermaid Gin and Tonics will be complimentary, a direct nod to the regatta's 200-year milestone.
A restored Citroën H-Van, transformed into a branded coastal bar, will be stationed at Cowes Yacht Haven for the duration of the event, giving competitors and visitors a distinctive spot to sample what the Island produces.
