Canoe Racing New Zealand is seeking an additional National Selector to help shape the country's Open and Age Group teams, with applications open now.
The appointment is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen CRNZ's selection framework, with an emphasis on balanced, well-informed decision-making across selection panels. The successful candidate will work alongside existing selectors and CRNZ staff at key points in the competition season, covering performance data reviews, selection meetings, and alignment discussions.
CRNZ is looking for candidates with a background in high performance sport, whether through competition, coaching, or performance leadership. Strong judgement, the ability to assess performance across multiple inputs, and a high level of integrity and discretion are considered essential.
Experience in canoe sprint or kayaking is advantageous but not required. Candidates from other high performance environments will be considered where their skills and perspective would strengthen overall panel capability.
Applicants must be able to identify and declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest and operate within CRNZ's policies to manage them appropriately. Panel balance, including diversity of experience and gender, is something CRNZ says it will continue to consider over time, though it is not being mandated within this single appointment.
