A free sailing initiative set up to mark Cowes Week's 200th anniversary has reached its goal, with 200 novices given the chance to get on the water through the North Sails Cowes Week Youth Sailing Zone run by UKSA.
Supported by the Gosling Foundation, the Youth Sailing Zone on the Parade at Cowes offered young people the chance to simply turn up and try sailing for the first time. The target of 200 free Try Sailing sessions was hit this morning, with the zone still open for another two days until the event wraps up on Friday evening.
